As indicated in the explainer, AI Engine includes two main ways to generate AI content. In this case we created full pages / posts and images from scratch. In the next lesson we’ll use the copilot and magic wand tools to get AI assistance right inside the page editor!

Open AI’s models use a TOKEN system. This helps to determine (and limit) the combined length of the text prompt and AI response. What are tokens? Open AI explains!

Once the free ‘credits’ that come with your new Open AI account are used up you’ll need to ‘pay as you go’ in order to continue using it for your AI interactions. You can set a monthly maximum amount you’re happy to pay (E.g. 10 USD) to keep spending under control. At the time of writing, free introductory credits expire 90 days after your account is created so make good use of them 🙂

It’s also worth noting that different AI models have different token pricing. At time of writing, the AI Engine plugin defaults to using the TURBO model. See more about Open AI’s models here.
