The main steps in this video

  1. Add a Text Box to the Slide:
    • Insert a simple text box on the second slide, which is currently blank.
    • Type a relevant title or introduction for the video (e.g., “What is Immersive Technology? Watch this short video”).
    • Format the text to make it stand out as a title.
  2. Find and Embed a YouTube Video:
    • Search YouTube for a suitable video (e.g., a video explaining immersive technology).
    • Click the ‘Share’ button under the YouTube video, then select ‘Embed’.
    • Copy the embed code provided by YouTube.
  3. Embed the Video in Storyline:
    • In Storyline, go to ‘Insert’ > ‘Video’ > ‘Video from Website’.
    • Paste the copied embed code into the dialog box and click ‘OK’.
    • A grey box with the word ‘Video’ will appear on the slide, indicating where the video will be displayed. Adjust the size as needed.
  4. Publish the Project to View the Video:
    • To view the slide with the embedded video, you need to publish the project (not just preview it).
    • Click on ‘Publish’, and select ‘Web’ for a quick preview in a web browser.
    • Name the preview file sensibly, publish the entire project, and then click ‘View Project’ to see it in the browser.
  5. Play the Video in the Web Browser:
    • The project opens in the web browser, showing how it will appear to students or clients.
    • Test the embedded video within the slide to ensure it plays correctly.
  6. Change the Slide Background Color:
    • To enhance the slide’s appearance, change the background colour.
    • Right-click on an empty area of the slide and select ‘Format Background’.
    • Choose a new background colour (e.g., dark blue) and adjust the transparency as desired.
  7. Save the Updated Project:
    Save the latest version of the project file
