The main steps in this video

  1. Check Slide Names:
    • Make sure every slide has a descriptive name. These names are visible to users if a menu is included in the player, which is the default in Storyline.
  2. Use Story View for Organization:
    • Spend time in the ‘Story View’ to organize slides and copy them between scenes.
    • Utilize the zoom slider at the bottom right of the window for a better view.
  3. Check the ‘Player’ for Order and Naming:
    • Click on the ‘Player’ icon to check that everything is correctly ordered and named.
    • If the slide order in the menu is incorrect, manually reorder by dragging and dropping slides, or use the ‘Reset from Story’ icon to match the current order in the story view.
  4. Final Finessing:
    • Go through all the slides again to make final adjustments to images and text boxes.
  5. Explore Output and Export Options:
    • Click on ‘Publish’ to see the output and export options.
    • Review 360: For sharing and getting feedback on the project (requires a paid version of the software).
    • Web Option: Customize quality settings for video and audio.
    • Video Option: Outputs slides or scenes as a single video file (note that interactive elements won’t work).
    • LMS (Learning Management System) Option: Useful for reporting information like quiz results to systems like Moodle, Blackboard, or Canvas.
    • Word Document: Outputs the project directly to a Word document, useful for documentation.
  6. Export to Desired Format:
    • Choose the appropriate export format based on the project’s needs and destination.
