This method is the quickest way to create a solid colour background in PaintShop Pro.

It’s also possible to create colour sweeps and blends like these with only a few clicks…

To get started, create a new, blank image then select the ‘Gradient Fill’ Icon as below:

Next, click on the ‘foreground and stroke properties’ swatch at the top right of the window…

You’re presented with lots of built-in gradients. Scroll through and select one, then click OK.

To apply the gradient to your new image, click anywhere on it!
