The main steps in this video

  1. Open the Image:
    Click the ‘Open’ button and navigate to the folder on your computer where the image is stored. Double-click on the image to open it. The example used is a photo from a Chinese lantern event with a birthday theme.
  2. Select the Horizontal Type Tool:
    Find the horizontal type tool in the toolbar. This is used for adding text to your image.
  3. Choose Text Color:
    Before typing, click the current color on the text toolbar. Use the spectrum slider to find the hue you like, then use the picker to select a precise shade. In this example, a mid-green shade is chosen.
  4. Increase Font Size:
    The default font size is usually too small. Increase it for visibility. In the example, the size is increased to 72 points.
  5. Type Your Text:
    Click on the image where you want the top left of the text to start. You can adjust this later. Type your desired text, like “Happy Birthday”.
  6. Adjust Text Size and Style:
    If the text is too small or looks plain, highlight all the text by double-clicking on it. Increase the size further and adjust the style as needed. You can enter custom values for size.
  7. Move the Text:
    Use the move tool to reposition the text on the image as needed.
  8. Save the Edited Image:
    Once you’re happy with the text, save your image as a new file. Go to ‘File’ > ‘Save As’, give the image a clear name for easy future reference, and click ‘Save’
