The main steps in this video
Start Photoshop: When you open Photoshop, you’ll be greeted with a welcome screen. The appearance of this screen can vary with different versions.
Open the Image: Click on ‘Open’ located towards the top left. Navigate to the folder on the computer where the desired image is stored and double-click on it to open it in Photoshop.
Check the Image Size: If the image, such as a logo, is too large for web use (for example, 1200 pixels wide and over 700 pixels high), it will need to be resized. You can see the size in the properties panel.
Adjust the View: Before resizing, check the zoom level at the bottom left of the window. You can zoom in and out using the Alt key and mouse wheel on a Windows computer, or use the zoom tool. Right-click with the zoom tool for a ‘Fit on Screen’ option.
Resize the Image: Go to ‘Image’ > ‘Image Size’ to resize the image. Change the width to a smaller size (like 640 pixels), and the height will automatically adjust to keep the image’s proportions. If you need to stretch or squash the image, click the link icon between height and width to unlink them, then adjust as needed.
Undo Mistakes if Necessary: If a mistake is made, it can be undone. Go to ‘Edit’ > ‘Undo’, or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Z.
Save the Edited Image: After resizing, save the image. Go to ‘File’ > ‘Save As’. You might be prompted to choose between saving to the computer or Adobe Creative Cloud. Name the image clearly for easy future reference and save it.
