Vegas Pro includes various project ‘templates’ to avoid needing to manually enter resolution and frame-rate information. In the explainer we’ve used the ‘1080-30p’ one below:

‘HD 1080’ is also refered to as ‘full HD’ and is the most common resolution for outputting general purpose videos, including those destined for YouTube and Vimeo. Using lower resolutions than this can leave your video looking ‘fuzzy’ while higher resolutions (E.g. 4k) can be unnecessary for general use and can require a more powerful computer to edit.
Note: You will rarely use most of the templates in the drop-box above as they apply to creating output for film or TV.
