The main steps in this video

  1. Open Vegas Pro
Start by opening Vegas Pro and close any welcome or software update windows that appear.
  2. Set the Default Workspace
If the screen looks different, switch to the default layout by going to the View menu, selecting Window Layout, and clicking on Default Layout.
  3. Set Project Properties
Go to the File menu, click on Properties, and select the template “HD 1080 30p” for a full HD project running at 30 frames per second.
  4. Save the Project
Initially, the project is untitled, so save it by going to the File menu, clicking on Save As, navigating to the desired folder, and entering a name for the project (e.g., “Spring Flowers Version 1”).
  5. Add Video Clips
  • The Project Media panel is empty, so tap the Explorer tab to view the folder structure and navigate to the desired video clips.
  • Upon locating a clip, double-clicking on it adds it to the timeline. When asked to match the project settings to the clip, select “No” since the settings were edited earlier.
  • Repeat this process to add additional clips, with Vegas automatically adding the next clip at the end of the last loaded clip.
  1. Play the Timeline
To play the current timeline, ensure the playhead is at the start of the timeline and press the spacebar to play or pause the timeline.
  2. Save the Project Again
Finally, save the current project by going to the File menu and clicking on Save.
